Vail Valley is a world class resort that hosts some of the most expensive and luxurious homes anywhere.  If you've been to Vail before, you know, and if you haven't you are in for one of the best vacations of your life.

I've been to Vail hundreds of times and it is as special for me today as it was in the early 1970's when I first started going there as a small boy learning how to ski.  My father was into skiing before people knew who Gerald Ford was... a man that help put Vail on the map (and the only US President who was never elected President or Vice President). 

I was fortunate enough to have a picture taken with Ford when skiing in Vail.

One of my many fond memories of vacationing in Vail.  We've owned our own condo in Vail (which we sold in the 80's) and we have stayed in countless places - so we feel that we are REAL connoisseurs of renting luxury homes in Vail.  We've stayed at the Sonnenalp dozens of times (but have recently felt that it has slid in its customer service), the Inn at Vail (which we love dearly) and dozens of rental condos and homes.

If you have feedback on where you like to rent when in Vail, write me and I'll keep track of other people's comments and add it to the site.  Most folks that we have visited with have used:  Peak Properties, Vail Realty, The Ritz Carlton, VRBO, or Vail Resort Rentals.  We've never heard anything bad about any of these, and we've used several of them with success.  Finding great luxury rentals in Vail can be a tough decision.  You want a PERFECT place - and you don't want to be disappointed.  You are spending a lot of money and you don't want to find out the pictures are misleading or the property is farther from town than you were led to believe.

Ricki and I brought my Mom and Dad to Vail.  We rented a great place in town for 10 days.  It was really great to bring my parents, who are now in their 70's.  It brought back all the memories of skiing in Vail when I was a young boy.

Jeff and Amber joined us in Vail.  We had a great time hiking and playing with the dogs.  Vail is one of those fabulous mountain towns that still enjoys dogs.  We brought Harper and Hunter with us for years... but they are gone now, so now it up to Doc and Wyatt to carry on the tradition. 

We've stayed up in the hills, in Beaver Creek, downtown, far away, close in, on this side of the highway and on that side... you name it and we've stayed there.  After 40's of visiting Vail, it is our opinion that the closer to downtown you are, the better.  But that's just our opinion - there have been lots of great trips when we didn't stay in close.  

Vail is great for its skiing - but we go as much in the summer as we do the winter.  You can have fun in Vail whenever you go.
